ABOUT ENDELEA

Your digital marketing with a good cause beyond

Endelea, a Belgium based foundation, works since a couple of years, on digitalization projects in Sub-saharan Africa. But the foundation is also giving something back from the global South.

Employment is very scarce locally and few African companies have marketing or digitization budgets. That is why we give motivated digital design developers the opportunity to work for SMEs in Belgium.

about STEVE R NAMANYA

How graphic design changed my life

Here in Uganda, not everybody is as fortunate as I am and not everybody gets a chance for a better live. But I did. In 2005 a Danish man opened me the door to the Graphic Design World and I have not looked back since then. This work allows me to create a living but also to live creatively… So I became a graphic designer. That was the start of my story.

After working with a top design and pre-press agency in Kampala for 10 years, I changed course and started working for AYINET, a non profit organization active on Peace Building and Mental Health.

Working for this NGO, I have developed a unique strength in empathizing with people from diverse backgrounds. I gained a deeper understanding on what drives people to live their live in a certain way. As a designer, my passion goes beyond solving user problems. I want to use my abilities to tell our customers’ stories, really create connection and use different digital design platforms in order to deliver top quality digital assets.

It’s almost 3 years I work with Endelea and it has been a very interesting learning experience as it allows me to work for Belgian customers too.

Over Diallo Akello

Designing brands is such an uplift for me

We come from a life full of hardships, where every day is a battle. For many Ugandan people the level of uncertainty still is extremely high. By incidence I met Endelea in Uganda and this chance, working for Belgian entrepreneurs, is a God-given. I never figured to be able to create such an impact.

Designing is essentially the art of problem solving, which is exactly the skillset we need in our challenging African context. The ability to solve any problem that is presented in front of you is invaluable. I love that I am being taught to have ideas and think in an entirely creative way. Design can influence the future, encourage sustainability and social change.

This is my way to make a contribution to this transformation that Africa has undergone in recent decades. Africa is shaping its own destiny. I rather think of the “African opportunity” instead of the “African problem”.
